Spam Filters
Read more about spam filters - what they are, the way they work and the ways to create one.
An email filter is a piece of software that’s installed on a POP3/IMAP email server and keeps track of all incoming email messages so as to impede any unasked-for ones from reaching a particular mailbox. Several instances of such emails would be: offers for pills or money, fraudulent banking notifications or attachments that contain malware sent with the idea to damage your PC. Email filters typically ‘scan’ the content of an email and in case they come across certain keywords or other dubious content, they either delete the email message or deliver it to the Junk/Spam folder instead of the Inbox folder. Certain web hosting companies combine their own email filters with up-to-the-minute databases from spam-monitoring organizations, so as to guarantee better safety for their customers. Such databases include patterns, mail server IPs and other info about spam emails recently detected by these organizations.

Spam Filters in Cloud Web Hosting
The protection of any email account that you create in a
cloud web hosting account with us is ensured by the advanced SpamAssassin filter that we employ. You can enable it through the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel and it comes with 5 levels of security based on the spam score it gives to each email in accordance with various parameters, such as the frequency of given words, the sender, etc. If you keep getting unsolicited bulk email messages, you can always raise the level or if you are afraid that you may miss an authentic message, you can combine the automated email filter with a custom one and forward all emails from a given sender to some other email address. In case you reach the decision that you no longer need a spam filter for a given mailbox, you can deactivate it with no more than several clicks.

Spam Filters in Semi-dedicated Hosting
If you order a
semi-dedicated server package from our company and if you create one or more mailboxes with any of the domains hosted in your account, you will be able to enable the advanced, 5-level SpamAssassin filter that we offer and keep all undesired messages away from your inbox. This option is accessible through the Email Manager section of the Hepsia Control Panel and it can be activated or deactivated for any email account at any moment. You can also configure the level of protection with a few mouse clicks in case junk email messages still enter your inbox or the anti-spam filter starts deleting genuine messages. Since you can select if the spam should be erased immediately or re-sent to a different mailbox, you can create spam@domain.com, for example, and check all filtered emails there, so as to make sure that you will not omit a message that you require. The messages that the spam filter allows to proceed will still be received in your inbox.
